Bob founded SEGAL & Co., a merchant and investment banking firm in 1989, to invest in and assist companies with their strategic development, growth and financing.  Recently, Bob served as Chairman, President & CEO of Oceanic Digital Communications, a mobile wireless telecommunications operator in the Caribbean and Latin America, where Segal & Co. provided management leadership, start-up capital, and strategic  planning. 

At Segal & Co. Bob has provided financial advisory services including arranging private equity and debt financing for a variety of companies including CLECs (Competitive Local Exchange telecommunications companies), wireless communications, teleservices, entertainment and paging companies.

After forming SEGAL & Co., Bob established strategic alliances with foreign merchant banks Lepercq, de Neuflize & Co. Inc., Charterhouse Inc. and C.J. Lawrence, Morgan Grenfell & Co. Incorporated, where he served as their Senior Investment Banker.  Prior to that he was a shareholder and Managing Director of Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. Incorporated and Hornblower & Weeks-Hemphill, Noyes Incorporated. 

Bob’s investment banking experience extends over four decades and includes numerous transactions ranging from cross-border mergers and acquisitions and financing, to leveraged buyouts, public and private debt and equity financing, project finance, derivatives, initial public offerings and tax-exempt bonds.  His varied industry expertise ranges from building materials and chemicals to environmental, foodservice distribution, leisure, natural resources, paper and forest products, telecommunications and technology. 

Bob is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and the University of Manitoba.
